Montreal could become a World Class Bicycling City, one of the best cities in the world for cycling, a place where cycling takes a major role in the urban transportation network. It could also slip back into the era when cycling infrastructure was ignored, automobiles became dominant on the streets and cycling's history almost forgotten. The Montreal Bicycle Club seeks to promote cycling on the Island of Montreal by celebrating its early history, increasing its visibility by having club rides throughout the island, and drawing attention to issues that affect cycling today. All those who are riders or "friends of the wheel" are welcome to join and there are a variety of ways you can.

1. Take part in a regular Fixture Ride Members of the club meet on a regular basis for Fixture rides in and around Montreal. These rides vary in length and may start at a cafe or meet at a commuter train station to take a bicycle tour of one of the surrounding areas. The meeting points and the planned ride are posted a few days ahead on the Fixtures Calendar. If you wish to join, simply hit the RSVP button on the calendar so we know to expect you. |
2. Take part in an Excursion The club also organizes multiple day excursions that involve cycling outside of the Montreal region. These are also listed on the Fixture Calender and again you can let us know if you are interested in joining by hitting the RSVP button and we will contact you with the details. |
