Montreal Bicycle Club Scrapbook
"Let me introduce you to Lyman Hotchkiss Bagg, or, as he was known to American cyclists of the 1880s, Karl Kron. Born in 1846, Karl Kron was one of cycling's earliest self-promoters. He was no athlete yet he pedalled his high-wheel bicycle all over the United States, later penning a massive book giving a mile by mile account of his travels. He published this book himself, using a form of early crowd-funding. "
